Why do this test? The herpes simplex virus 1 & 2 antibody test (IgG) tests if you have had herpes simplex 1 & 2 in the past. It is not a test to see if you have a herpes simplex virus infection now. The herpes simplex 1 & 2 antibody test (IgG) can take up to 4 months to become positive after an infection.
There is no need for an appointment to do the herpes simplex virus 1 & 2 antibody test (IgG). After ordering it, you will receive a confirmation message with a map and directions attached. You can then go to Patient Reception at The Doctors Laboratory to give the sample. The laboratory is open 7am – 7pm weekdays and 7am-1pm on Saturdays.
