This is a chlamydia test done by a vaginal swab to check for infection.
Why do this test? This vagina swab test may be done if a woman has vaginal discharge or wants to screen for chlamydia. It can also be used to check if an infection has cleared after treatment.
There is no need for an appointment to do the chlamydia test. After paying for the test online, you will receive a confirmation message with a map and directions attached. You can then go to Patient Reception at The Doctors Laboratory to give the sample. The laboratory is open 7am – 7pm weekdays and 7am-1pm on Saturdays.
Time taken: 2 working days *
Results of your chlamydia test will be e-mailed to you with a doctor's explanation of what the result means.
* Indicative timings only. Actual result may be earlier or slightly later.
If there is no discharge, it may be better to test for chlamydia with a urine test.
