What This Test Includes
Blood Test
This 4th generation HIV blood test checks for HIV-1 antibodies, HIV-2 antibodies and HIV p24 antigen. It may help identify markers linked to HIV infection.
Hepatitis B surface antigen testing checks for HBsAg, a marker that may be linked to current hepatitis B infection.
Hepatitis C antibody testing checks for antibodies linked to hepatitis C exposure. Further testing may be recommended if antibodies are detected.
Syphilis blood testing checks for antibodies associated with syphilis infection. If results suggest infection, medical advice and treatment may be recommended.
Urine Test
Urine testing checks for chlamydia, one of the most common bacterial STIs. Chlamydia may not always cause symptoms, so testing can still be useful even if you feel well.
Urine testing also screens for gonorrhoea, a bacterial STI that can affect the genital tract and urinary system and may require treatment if detected.

When Should I Test?
Different infections have different testing window periods. Testing too early may mean that some infections are not yet detectable.
- Chlamydia and gonorrhoea: urine testing is commonly recommended from around 7-14 days after possible exposure
- HIV blood testing: most accurate from approximately 45 days after possible exposure
- Syphilis and hepatitis testing: may require longer window periods depending on exposure timing and individual circumstances
If you test earlier than the recommended window period, repeat testing may sometimes be advised for additional reassurance.
Please note: If you currently have symptoms, testing should not be delayed. Medical advice is recommended if you are concerned about possible STI exposure, symptoms, hepatitis risk or HIV risk.
