What This Home STI Test Checks For
Vaginal Swab
This vaginal swab checks for chlamydia, one of the most common bacterial STIs. Chlamydia may cause vaginal discharge, pelvic pain, bleeding after sex or pain when passing urine, but it can also cause no noticeable symptoms.
This vaginal swab checks for gonorrhoea. Vaginal swab testing can be especially useful where vaginal discharge is present or where the vagina may have been exposed during sex.
This test checks for Mycoplasma genitalium, a bacterial STI that may be linked with vaginal discharge, pelvic discomfort, bleeding after sex or inflammation. Some people have no symptoms.
This test checks for Trichomonas vaginalis, a sexually transmitted infection that may cause frothy discharge, irritation, soreness or discomfort when passing urine.

When Should I Test?
Different infections have different window periods. Testing too early may lead to a false negative result, so repeat testing may sometimes be advised if there is ongoing concern.
- Chlamydia: usually most reliable around 7-14 days after exposure
- Gonorrhoea: usually most reliable around 7-14 days after exposure
- Mycoplasma genitalium: usually detectable around 10-14 days after exposure
- Trichomonas vaginalis: usually detectable around 7-14 days after exposure
For maximum reliability across this panel, testing is generally best from around 10-14 days after your last potential exposure.
Medical advice: If you develop symptoms such as vaginal discharge, pelvic pain, bleeding after sex, pain when passing urine, testicular pain in a partner, or symptoms that are severe or worsening, seek medical advice promptly.
