This is a blood test for hepatitis C antibodies (anti-HCV).
Why do this test? This is a screening test to see if a person has hepatitis C or has had it in the past. If it is positive, then the person usually needs an extra test to find out if they have the infection now.
There is no need for an appointment to do the Hepatitis C Antibody Blood Test. After paying for the test online, you will receive a confirmation message with a map and directions attached. You can then go to Patient Reception at The Doctors Laboratory to give the sample. The laboratory is open 7am – 7pm weekdays and 7am-1pm on Saturdays.
Time taken: 1 working day *
Results of your hepatitis C antibody blood test will be e-mailed to you with a doctor's explanation of what the result means.
* Indicative timings only. Actual result may be earlier or slightly later.
