Why do this test?
The Home Thrush & Bacterial Vaginosis (BV) Kit is most useful when women have a vaginal discharge from an unknown cause. It is sometimes difficult to tell if you have a fungal (candida) or bacterial infection based on the symptoms, or the appearance and smell of the vaginal discharge. This test will tell you for sure which one it is so that you can get the correct treatment.
Simply do the test at home and return to the laboratory in the postage-paid envelope supplied.
NB. Please note that Home Thrush & Bacterial Vaginosis (BV) Kit does NOT screen for STIs (Sexually Transmitted Infections). You should do one of our STI screening tests if you suspect that you have an STI.
Results:
Results take 4 working days after the sample is received at the laboratory* and will be e-mailed to you with a doctor's explanation. Treatment is offered when needed.
* Indicative timings only. Actual result may be earlier or slightly later.
