Product description

The Home Thrush & Bacterial Vaginosis (BV) Kit checks for the presence of vaginal candidiasis (also known as thrush or yeast) infection, and for Bacterial Vaginosis (BV) caused by Gardnerella vaginalis, and also Trichomonas vaginalis bacteria.

Read about different types of vaginal discharge here.

Why do this test?

The Home Thrush & Bacterial Vaginosis (BV) Kit is most useful when women have a vaginal discharge from an unknown cause. It is sometimes difficult to tell if you have a fungal (candida) or bacterial infection based on the symptoms, or the appearance and smell of the vaginal discharge. This test will tell you for sure which one it is so that you can get the correct treatment.

NB. Please note that Home Thrush & Bacterial Vaginosis (BV) Kit does NOT screen for STIs (Sexually Transmitted Infections). You should do an STI screen if you suspect that you have an STI.

Results take 4 working days after the sample is received at the laboratory* and will be e-mailed to you with a doctor's explanation. Treatment is offered when needed.

* Indicative timings only. Actual result may be earlier or slightly later.
