This is a blood test for hepatitis B immunity. It tests the level of hepatitis B antibodies (anti-HBs).
Why do this test? This test is usually done to find out if a person has protection against hepatitis B. This depends on the antibody level. A level of 100 is usually required for a healthcare provider like a doctor or nurse. The test is sometimes done 1-2 months after a course of hepatitis B vaccination to find out if the person has developed protection due to the vaccination.
