Product description

This pregnancy blood test is an accurate quantitative pregnancy blood test (beta-hCG).

Why do this test?

A blood pregnancy test is much more accurate than a urine test. It becomes positive 7-12 days after falling pregnant (conception) and is 99% reliable. A number of 5.8 IU/L or more is positive for pregnancy and gets higher during the course of the pregnancy reaching a maximum around 9-12 weeks before getting less for the rest of the pregnancy (see below). For this reason you can also use a pregnancy blood test to see how a pregnancy is progressing. It is therefore sometimes used to check for miscarriages.

A urine pregnancy test, on the other hand, is usually done when you have missed a period and is 97% accurate. That is why women sometimes do more than one test just to make sure. It usually becomes positive 2 weeks after getting pregnant (conception).
