The Essential Female STI Screen 1 is a blood and urine test screen for the most common and serious causes of STI:

• HIV (1&2/p24)
• Syphilis (IgM/IgG)
• Chlamydia
• Gonorrhoea

  The Essential Female STI Screen 1 is the minimum STI screen that is recommended for women as in the latest guidelines by the British Association for Sexual Health and HIV.

  There is no need for an appointment to do the Essential Female STI Screen 1. After paying for the test online, you will receive a confirmation message with a map and directions attached. You can then go to Patient Reception at The Doctors Laboratory to give the sample. The laboratory is open 7am – 7pm weekdays and 7am-1pm on Saturdays.

  Results of your Essential Female STI Screen 1 will be e-mailed to you with a doctor's explanation of what the result means.

    Gonorrhoea can be diagnosed with a urine test, but a vaginal swab is a better test especially if you have an abnormal vaginal discharge.
