The acute hepatitis test is a blood test for a recent hepatitis infection. It tests for the following:
Why do this test? The acute hepatitis test may be done if you suspect you have had a recent hepatitis infection. You may also do it you have abnormal liver function tests or if you have symptoms of liver damage.
There is no need for an appointment to do the acute hepatitis test. After ordering it, you will receive a confirmation message with a map and directions attached. You can then go to Patient Reception at The Doctors Laboratory to give the sample. The laboratory is open 7am – 7pm weekdays and 7am-5pm on Saturdays.

Results of your acute hepatitis test will be e-mailed to you with a doctor's explanation of what the result means.
